CyberGirls Fellowship is a free 1-year fellowship program designed to improve the socio-economic well- being of young women aged 18 -28 years in Africa, by equipping them with globally sought-after cybersecurity skills and enabling them to seize and create work opportunities across the world.
This initiative aims at combating poverty, cybercrime, cybersecurity skills shortage, unemployment, and gender disparity in the tech industry (particularly cybersecurity niche). We achieve this by providing free 8 months intensive hands-on cybersecurity training and mentorship while connecting them to economic opportunities (internship/job placement).
This fellowship has trained 1800+ women and girls from 27 African
countries in four cohorts taking these women from novice to professional. Funded by individual donations and corporate sponsorships, we are building Africa’s largest pipeline of future female cybersecurity leaders who come from historically economically disadvantaged groups. Our Alumni now serve in Cybersecurity teams for multinationals like Unilever, Shelt, Deloitte, and PwC.
