The Digital Access Programme (DAP) is a United Kingdom Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) led project that aims to catalyse more inclusive, affordable, safe, and secure digital access for excluded and underserved communities in Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Brazil and Indonesia. The project which commenced in April 2021 focused on helping the partner countries to improve digital access, reduce poverty, and stimulate inclusive economic growth by bringing poor and excluded populations into the digital economy.
With the support of Cybersafe Foundation, KPMG launched a Cybersecurity Toolkit for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria. Accomplishing the second pillar of the project which aimed to provide technical assistance to strengthen defenses against the cyber threats and harms that affect governments, businesses and citizens, especially vulnerable groups at risk of online abuse or exploitation.
The toolkit provided free education and the necessary tools required to help SME owners and staff who otherwise operated without necessary Cybersecurity protocols in place to implement them. The toolkit was launched, and participants educated on how to use the toolkit through virtual self-paced trainings organized by Cybersafe Foundation.
